AGRICULTURAL EXPERIMENT STATION
The US Land Grant University System is a nation-wide, interconnected network of programs implemented by each state & affiliated territory. It was founded on the concept of agricultural security, growing population, & natural resource management. The resources found in these pages highlight both western, regional umbrella organizations, as well as state-wide Agricultural Experiment Stations (AES) in the Colorado River Basin states.
AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH SERVICE
The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) organizes research into National Programs which serve to bring coordination, communication, & empowerment to approximately 1000 ARS research projects. The Water Availability & Watershed Management program develops practices & technologies to manage the Nation's agricultural water resources.

AgNIC facilitates & participates in partnerships & cooperation among institutions & organizations world-wide that are committed to the identification, delivery and preservation of reliable, freely-available, evaluated, digital content & quality services for agriculture, food, & natural resources information.
BUREAU OF RECLAMATION
The Bureau of Reclamation coordinates the Water 2025 Initiative for the Department of the Interior which focuses on stretching existing water supplies through collaboration, technology & innovative, market-based solutions thereby preventing crises & conflict in the West.
NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL LAW CENTER
The National Agricultural Law Center is the only agricultural law research & information facility that is independent, national in scope, & directly connected to the national agricultural information network. As a result of the expanding scope of agricultural law & its convergence with related areas, the Center also includes food law in the scope of its coverage.
NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL LIBRARY
The Water Quality Information Center (WQIC) of the National Agricultural Library (NAL) was established in 1990 to support the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) plan to address water quality concerns. The center collects, organizes, & communicates the scientific findings, educational methodologies, & public policy issues related to water resources & agriculture.
NATIONAL INSTITUTES FOR WATER RESOURCES
The National Institutes for Water Resources, Inc. (NIWR) is a 501(c)4 organization which represents the fifty-four state & territorial Water Research Institutes & Centers in collective activities to implement the provisions of the Water Resources Research Act of 1984, (Public Law 98-242) & subsequent federal legislation which amends or supersedes this Act.
NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION SERVICE
The National Water Management Center serves as the production support center for Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) in providing leadership, direct assistance, information, & technology on water-related issues for natural resources conservation. SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH EDUCATION
The Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) program has helped advance farming systems that are profitable, environmentally sound & good for communities through a nationwide research & education grants program since 1988.
UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY
The Water Resources unit of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) mission is to provide water information that benefits the Nation's citizens including publications, data, maps, & applications software. USGS Water-Resources offices are located in every State.
